Scholarships for training classes for treatment counselors
The criteria to receive scholarships for training classes toward NC substance abuse counselor certification are:
- A clinical master’s degree with no minimum substance abuse experience or a bachelor’s degree with at least one year as a substance abuse counselor
- Currently working in the substance abuse field in North Carolina or working in a companion clinical field with a clinical master’s degree
- If in recovery, at least three years’ sobriety
- Commitment to a clinical career that involves professional substance abuse counseling
- Already registered with the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board and actively working toward CSAC, LCAS, or CCS
